Get involved - We're Here To Help!!

As an organisation we are very dependant on local people getting involved in our activities.

Look at getting involved/Helping the community in the following way :-

  • The first circle is you of course
  • The next is your family
  • Then comes your community
  • Then the wider environment (which involves political, social etc)

The next step is deciding what changes you want to see in health . Here are some things to think about:-

  • Health Assessment - if you are not sure where to start, have an assessment for fitness or wellness to help you make a starting point.
  • Young People's Health - we work with young people aged from 10-19 on health improvement topics.
  • Women's health - maybe a women's health network or a fitness group
  • Men's health - this could be a self help support group or information group
  • Active living - maybe you could start a walking group or line dancing club or take up something more physical like aerobics
  • Health and Older People - perhaps a group of older people would like to find ways of keeping better health and ensuring their safety - getting a group together helps here
  • Support groups - or maybe you have experienced poor health yourself and know of others who would like to support each other in their experiences
  • Healthy Eating - sometimes this takes the form of a support group for weight reduction sometimes it can be a budget cooking class but mostly it is about sensible eating and being aware of food issues and how this is related to where you live and how you live.

We have not covered all the aspects of health that you might be wanting to change but would like the opportunity of discussing this with you.

All these ways of getting involved start with YOU.
