Community Health In Linwood Project (CHIL)

This is a project within RCHI working in the Linwood area. Its aim is to support and assist Linwood residents in improving and maintaining their own health and wellbeing.

It enables communities to:

  • Develop activities which promote healthy living & tackle health inequalities
  • Iinfluence the strategies, policies & services of the main agencies
  • Improve knowledge, skills & understanding of health issues

The project works to:

  • Identify & address local health needs
  • Provide information & resources support the development of health related groups and activities
  • Promote use of mainstream services enable community development

Health Assessment Programme (HAP)

HAP is a tool that RCHI uses to assess fitness and as a measure of wellbeing. It is an excellent starting block for assisting people in identifying areas of their own health where they would like to make changes and require support.

The Microfit system has been utilised by health & fitness experts around the world since 1986.

The Community Health in Linwood Project is funded by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund Fair Share Trust programme administered by the Scottish Community Foundation.
